THE THRILLAH FROM VIENNA

ARTIST

Fun and play are the primary themes of my art. I know it's pretty broad, but, whether visual or performance, I often like to experiment just to see what I can do. Whatever I learn from the experience, especially from mistakes, I'll add to my perpetually growing knowledge and skill sets. Don't get me wrong, I'm very serious about what I consider my life's calling, but I prefer to indulge in my playful side more and more as I get older.

Stylistically, I'm heavily influenced by comic art and comic artists such as Jim Lee, Adam Hughes, Joe Madureira, Frank Cho, and Mike Allred, and Dean Yeagle; and Manga artists such as Rumiko Takahashi, Ken Akamatsu, and Oh Great!. Leonard da Vinci is a source of inspiration, but more for his nerdy side than his art. Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt are personal favorites. Also a fan of street artists, Smash137 and Vhils.

B-BOY

I found confidence as a bboy, something I try to help instill in others, especially in youth. If it wasn't for the art form and the community of dancers I've been blessed to have met over the years, I'd still be the shy and timid introvert I was ten years ago. I'm mostly just an introvert these days. Anyway, in gratitude, I do my best to pay forward all the good things I've gained during my seven years as a breaker.

GEEK

I geek out on all kinds of things. I got some weird random knowledge and interests too.

Geek energy is also passionate energy, and it's more fun to have something you're really crazy about than not, right?

PENGUINS

I like penguins. I even got penguin tats. If you're curious why I like 'em, feel free to ask. Don't worry, I won't peck.

POSITIVITY

Too easy to dwell on negatives. Too easy to put others down. It's been more fun trying to keep things on the up and up, more fun to support and help others.

Peace & Tschüß,

Albert R. Songalia
